Got to a tile store there are tons of them around. Check out a few samples that you like best and take them home. Lay each individually up next to the counter and choose which one you like the best. Glass back splashes are very popular with granite and they come in a variety of colors and textures.
any home decor store will have samples you can check out. Take them home, compare, and chooseb
Granite probably means a very busy, or somewhat busy print. Some people like to add even more print, but I think it takes away from the uniqueness of the granite. What I would do if it were my project is pick a white, or other solid color that compliments the granite and the rest of the kitchen. But work around the granite keeping in mind your walls, floor and cabinets. If you pick accents to match accents, that will be hard to change when you want to change your style. If you have granite with speckles, it might be cute to add a similar color and patteren to your backsplash in subtle way. Then, you have size and shape: subway, mosaic, tile...you can even follow Chip and Joanna and do shiplap. Just a couple of thoughts.
Pick one of the secondary/minor lighter colors in your granite as your backsplash base color. Possibly with a bit of your dominant color making a kinda of reverse coloration effect, this will create balance. You may even pick up some of the tones of your cabinetry. If your granite is busy, keep your backsplash simple. If your kitchen is busy, keep the backsplash even simpler. Remember your granite is the star, (it cost you a lot!) not the backsplash.
It's really a matter of preference , but word to the wise: choose something that is durable , easy to clean and won't show dirt or grease or stain . Think about the name BACKSPLASH lol.
I agree with everyone else. This is your house so choose something YOU like, but do remember that if you choose a color that you're using as an accent, it will be harder to change your accent color. Even if they don't have tile 'samples', in some places you can buy 1 tile to bring home and put against your counter to see how it will look.

My granite is busy and definitely the "star" (and definitely the most expensive!) so I did a very subtle coordinating travertine that we had cut like and laid like subway tile. Tiny grout lines. Turned out very well.
i just did mine and I put large tile as my backsplash that compliments my granite counter top in a lighter shade to keep the kitchen fresh and clean looking and not cool loses in and also complimented the cabinets.
