You could cook whatever it is you are making a without BOTTOM crust and use only a top crust OR you could follow one of these excellent suggestions:

Try baking the bottom first
I par-bake the bottom crust prior to filling and baking the pie. It's also called blind baking.

I smeaŗ it with butter after baking. (let it cool first. I also use it on graham cracker crust. Not melted butter, but softened.:-)
