You need a mitre saw. You have to cut the pieces at 45 degree angle and a mitre saw does the work for you. Check youtube.com to find help vids. If not mentioned there, you will need finishing nails to install it and a countersink. That allows you to put nail into the wood and then you cover the holes with dab of wood putty. Then paint the whole length of wood to cover nails. Leaves a seamless finish.

You can buy the corner pieces and you don't have to cut miters. Just buy the molding pieces and cut.
