vinegar is a really good way to get rid of odors and some stains. I don't know if it will get rid of those kinds of stains but it certainly is worth a shot.
Place coffee grounds, open boxes of baking soda,or de-activated charchol to absorb the odor.
Clean it with vinegar as suggested, then leave it outside for the day with the doors/drawers open to let it air out. If it still smells, then do the charcoal/baking soda/coffee grounds. You can also try washing it in sections with a 50/50 vinegar/water solution, and then drying it with a blow drier. I don't know exactly how it works, but when I've used a blow drier, it seems to drive the vinegar into the wood itself, which is what you want if the rotten veggie odor has had a chance to really sink into the wood.
try rubbing it with pure vanilla it works to get rid of spoiled food odors in freezers and refridgerators
Thank you. I'll try both. Can't hurt.
Tip, you should not store onions and potatoes together. The "gasses" the onions give off make your potatoes spoil faster.
