  • This may sound odd, but I don't bother, as it adds character and every scratch has a story to tell. Our floors finally needed a do over after 20 some odd years, so we cleared everything out and covered everything up and lightly sanded down and refinished. And lived in the RV in the driveway for a good week. Turned out beautiful. Good for another 20 years . . .

Use a product called Rejuvenate, there are 2 different ones, the first one removes all scratches and the other one makes it shine like new. I use them all the time and love it-- you can get at Walmart or Lowes

You do not say how deep these are - if they are just light scratches, I use a product called Murphy's Oil Soap to clean my solid old red oak wood floors. Light scratches seem to disappear. (No oily residue- just a nice sheen) If they are deep, then a wood filler or some sort may be needed.

Sometimes you can take a damp cloth and an iron and the wood raises and fills out the scratch. Then you can take a color stick for furniture and blend it in,,
