Hello Oldgunny; My Basset Hound loves just plain grass. He rolls around in it, smells, and goes hunting....
Please check with a local nursery, to insure that no plants are in your yard which are deadly to your pet. Take Care!!
Artificial grass which can be expensive to install correctly but good looking and perfect for pets and children.
Depending how much work you want to put into it, a grass lawn is the best.
Whatever you do, do not use the recycled car tires. Nasty stuff. And about the artificial grass...I don't have a clue but I would want to know what it is made of and what chemicals are in it. Dogs like to roll around on the ground and, of course play in it. Then they lick themselves especially the bottom of their feet.
