It's a matterof preference but I would suggest using a gloss enamel paint in a wet area such as a bathroom.
Enamel , it will last longer in the humidity and clean easier .
gloss or at least semi gloss works well on bathroom areas. It helps to be able to clean them better.
You can use anything from satin (low shine) to high-gloss enamel if you want a real reflective surface. The most common is semi-gloss, durable and able to be scrubbed clean.
I use Chalk paint, then wax; both dark and clear wax.
Make sure they are clean and dry. Use acrylic latex paint. Remove the doors and hardware. Mark the doors and cabinets with tape where they go. Lightly sand the doors and cabinets to remove any gloss and roughen the surface for paint. Prime with a stain blocking primer like Zinsser 123. Then paint with your color. Seal with at least three coats with a water based polyurethane. Use a small foam roller and foam brush for a smooth finish.
