Does a confederate rose plant have to be planted in the ground?
I live in a small camper so I need pot plant ideas. I also have a gardenia and mandilla ( not sure of spelling ) plant in pots.
Big enough not to dest root ball and soak in bucket water before planting. At bottom of hole cut up banana skin, roses love the potassiu. Enjoy smelling the roses
Dig a hole deep enough to cover the roots. Add lots of compost and water. Plant up until where the rose first forms a branch. Water daily for at least a week depending upon how hot and dry the weather is. Do not allow to dry out during this period.
I think I would water longer than a week depending on weather. It might be a good idea to plant during a rainy time to make sure you don't kill the plant. some can be a bit persnickety. I also plant my things when I know it will rain so the soil doesn't dry out. It also makes sure that the dirt is settled around the roots. Enjoy don't forget the banana peel at the bottom and I sprinkle egg shells over the top of soil. What out for any type of bug infestation and make sure you either wipe them off or spray them. I've been using a bit of dish soap in a spray bottle and I've heard some use rubbing alcohol. But I have never used that.
