Catus plants, geraniums; google air plants, desert plants. I also started to do self-watering methods which helps. I had black thumbs and I have discovered that knowledge with trial and error will turn your black thumbs into a green ones. There are a lot of free videos on You Tube that are very helpful in learning. Also, check out the library for great books available. I have two library cards for two states and can order books from all over each State and they ship them to a location for me to pick-up and can renew on phone and hold for over a month. Then scan important information for computer, or write the important information in you garden notebook, and this will be very helpful. Hope this helps; I so understand your problem. Keep learning and keep moving forward; you may find your thumbs greener then green in no time.

Spider plants are great! They are non toxic to pets, low maintenance, and send out runners that produce babies that you can replant :) Aloe is another low maintenance houseplant that reprodues itself if repotted into a pot one size larger than it came in (and then you can whirl up in a blender and freeze some of the peeled aloe fronds, or whatever they are called, to use for sunburn relief, cuts, scrapes, etc., or just use it fresh without freezing). I have a mass cane in my living room that is so easy to care for that I don't know why I didn't get one earlier, and it will grow to be around 8 feet tall which will look lovely in the corner. Three flowering plants that aren't hard to grow are bromeliads, African violets, and prayer plants, too. If you succulents try a burro's tail. It is unusual and easy ;) Hope this helps ;)

Hostas are great. As they age, they just get bigger and bigger. You can divide them but do your research before you dig.
