A photo would help. What is the door made of?
Yes! Grease remover, outta have a skull and crossbones On the bottle! It definitely cleaned the wood! Been there done that! Stripped the "grease and the shine" right off.
Minwax at Lowes or home depot makes a product that puts it back on. It's kinda like paste wax for your car. You rub it on, wait till it drys and buff it off. They've got a whole section full of products, some even have tinted colored paste. There's sprays, oils, and even a grease remover that protects your shine, determining filth from finish!! I repaired the stripped damage and kept on going now my cabinets look fabulous and all have the same finish. Even!
