  • We used untreated pine for our enclosure, but you can go all out with cedar, or go green and use recycled or repurposed wood. Note: Avoid pressure-treated lumber if you are nervous about the chemicals coming in contact with the soil. 4

DIY Map Coasters

Maps seem to be popping up in home decor more and more lately. I made these DIY coasters with some old maps from our time abroad and some materials from my craft stash! They were fast, cute, and best of all-free!

Plastic spoon pendant light

Get a plastic bottle, lots of plastic spoons, hot glue and lots of patience and you have a gorgeous lamp! I made this for our hallway! I love turning it on and off! The economy lamp we used does not emit heat to melt the spoons or bottle!

  • This is the finished bench. The colors remind me of a gypsy wagon. I toiled over the colors for a year and finally was inspired by the color on a plastic tumbler. I took it to the lumber yard and they matched the color. 23
