Never ever hot water! It will cook the plants and kill them. Always run the hose first as the temperature of the water coming out of a hose left in the sun can be 140° and seriously burn or damage anything it touches. Cool water out of the sprinkler is best. Question though, is there a temperature guage on your system?
Hot water will kill the plant. The warmest you want is tepid, as in Orchids like tepid water when you soak them.
not hot. It can cook the roots. Cold water is ok. Buckets set under down spouts...best. It's usually closer to the air temps.
