Put a dryer sheet in each drawer
baking soda
Box of baking soda in each drawer or charcoal. I would wipe the drawers out with white vinegar and set in the sun too.
Real vanilla on cotton balls in a shallow dish. Place in drawers of bureau.
Put coffee grounds in a filter in them and they absorb the smell.
Naomie's got it! I do think Dfm's idea of vanilla would add a nice scent though. There are a couple of vanilla's on the market that contain real vanilla but also don't have enough alcohol to be called real vanilla. (35% or 38% - I forgot which) If you can find one, that will work well too.
Good luck
was described to me once how a person got the smell of a decaying corpse out of a new car.Supposedly acquired copious amounts of back copies of newspapers, which were then wadded into balls to fill the car.The paper balls were replaced repeatedly every three days until odor was gone. Was told it only took four or five changes, and this was for a really bad odor.
small dish of plain white vinegar in each drawer. Leave for three days. and make sure to leave the drawers alone as it can easily spill. After three days, remove vinegar and check to see if the smell is gone.
If this does not work try activated charcoal with a small piece in each drawer.
Do as above, make sure you set it out in the sun on good days, that really helps!
