I re-use them when I make Homemade breads, cakes, cookies and I pack them in bags that need a closure.

If you have lots of cords on a surge protector, you can identify each one by using a tab with the name of the corresponding item on it in magic marker.

I collect them and put them in the bottom of potted plants instead of pebbles, it airates the soil and will not break down. I also use them for matching colors with my toddler. I put them in a big bin with sand and she can dig them out and match as she goes.
