Put beer in a shallow bowl.

Use a course mulch to deter them from coming in at all. Also epsom salts sprinkled around, which is also good for your plants. If you see a slug slime track, wipe it out. Other slugs will follow it.

Hello Linda; What I have done is to set out half buried small bowls of beer. The slugs will crawl into the bowls and will drown.

I hope that this will help you!!! Good Luck!

I use small saucers of beer. They crawl in and drown.

We used to use beer but the end result was disgusting to deal with so, now we just use ground up egg shells & spread them where you don't want the slugs. They don't like the egg shells & will leave the areas!

Thank you for this suggestion. It doesn't kill them but gets rid of them and that's what I wanted. I don't like to touch them and would prefer not to kill them either.

    Salt.

The beer trick really works. My mom told me and she learned it from a good friend. Other people recommend salt (also works but is extremely cruel). We figured that at least they died as happy drunks.

There really isn't a way , But you can put larger or beer in to small plastic cup and push them in the soil and they will fall in cause they like the smell or something like that hope this helps 😙

Your very welcome Linda! We don't like to kill either! Being as humane as possible is best we believe!
