How do I remove old grease/oil stains from my carpet?

Z on Jan 28, 2014Have you tried Goop Hand Cleaner yet? My Mom used to use that to get grease stains out of clothing so I would guess it would work on carpet too. You should test it some place inconspicuous first though.Helpful Reply

The Garden Frog with C Renee on Jan 28, 2014Since you have doused your carpet with all kinds of cleaners and sprays, you may want to try to just have the carpet steam cleaned. when you keep using these cleaners and such on carpet, you may temporarily get the stain out but then any residue left in the carpet from the cleaners will attract dirt and the stain will reappear. I would highly recommend to have a professional steam cleaner come clean. I have had them remove dried in paint and food stains from a house we bought years ago. I was in shock how clean he got the carpet. I do not use any of those carpet products like Resolve on carpet any more after I have seen what it does to carpets. You have to have stains lifted out of carpet fibers. I have always had kids and pets in and out and I love carpet and I love to vacuum. Here there are always coupons for great deals on carpet and upholstery cleaning. Watch out for hidden costs for heavy duty cleaning. My GF swears by Stanley and you should see how clean they get her carpets and clean and she has a very lived in home. LOLHelpful Reply

LeeAnn Gerleman on Aug 16, 2015My brother was a motorcycle mechanic back in the 80s. He would regularly walk through the house to the bathroom, leaving oil spots around the house. She got some stuff called Swipe. Its in a spray bottle, my Mom would spray it on, and blot it and the oil would be gone. I haven't seen Swipe lately, but it was so good, its got to be around somewhere.Helpful Reply
