Rustic Mirror

I mentioned in my "kitchen update" post that my husband had his own home before we got married...I still remember the first time I came over, I was half expecting to see a futon in his living room and maybe even a deer head on the wall since he loves to hunt. I was surprised to see that he had real furniture and everything was nice and tidy. One of the first things I did noticed when he gave me the tour of the house was the hall way. The walls were covered with mirrors. I laughed to myself and thought "this will have to go". Don't worry he didn't put the mirrors up. He bought the house that way. What can I say it was built in the 80's. So when we moved in together the mirrors were the first thing to come down. They actually came in really handy. I wanted a full length mirror in my dining room but didn't want to spend a lot so we decided to make our own using one of the mirrors from the wall.
We got really lucky with this mirror because the wood we used to frame it was left over from another project we worked on.
the handles are my favorite part. I was inspired when I was browsing online and came across something similar but it was way too expensive.
I really need to repaint this wall. we plan to repaint the house soon. I really want to make my rustic mirror pop.
I wish I would have taken a pic when this was a wall of mirrors.
