    There's no way to tell one pepper variety from another until they start to set fruit.

    The shape of the fruit will be different when it is growing. Bell peppers will look like a little ball and jalapenos will be long and slender. The only time you will have a problem is if the sweet pepper is the same shape, but usually they are a yellow pepper. Most all peppers will eventually turn red if left on the plant long enough. The leaves could look a little different, but I really never noticed myself.

    If planted side by side, they will all be hot
