Armadillo's really dislike castor oil, and it also makes the bugs they eat very unpleasant. Spray around your fence line with a castor oil based repellent and it will soak into the ground, keep them out and make any bugs in the area taste nasty to them as well so they will hunt elsewhere. There are even a few good castor oil based repellents you can find at Walmart.
