I am making my kitchen look newer with little money, someone mentioned spray painting the hardware would be cheaper than replacing so any helpful hints would be appreciated.

I take mine outside. First clean them well. Stick them to a cardboard box with the screws in place and spray. Give them enough time to dry completely, using light sprays with each application so it doesn't run or drip.

Use large pieces of Styrofoam or cardboard--push nails in frp, bottom to fit through screw holes in handles to hold the door and drawer hardware & spray away!!

First clean them well, then lay some water bottle caps on a piece of styrofoam, then place each handle over two of them. This lifts them off the surface, then spray paint whatever color. Once they are good and dry, put a top coat of sealer on them and you are ready to go.
