What do you want to do with your small laundry?
stack the machines if possible. take a make your own basket stack with the metal wire kits you can get at the big box lumber stores.thes have been great for me....go up not out. hols the odd sock, the laundry detergent, softner sheets.
Our laundry room is like a small walk in closet with only room for machines and storage on one side of the room. Washer and dryer side by side took up most of the space. So when it was time to buy new appliances we decided to stack them leaving space on either side. No manufacturer makes a cabinet deep and narrow. So we custom made our cabinets. I wanted to use the whole space so we put the cabinets on wheels so later on we could access the electric and water. I designed the cabinets with functional shelves and full extension drawers. We added a large shelf across the top a step stool needed to access that space.
