Is Creeping Charlie in your lawn a good thing or a bad thing?
Is there a sure-fire way to get rid of Creeping Charley?
First, just cutting the vines down won't get rid of them. And if any trimmings hit the ground they can take root & grow new vines. They have to have their roots (completely) removed. First the plant spreads by the seeds but, the roots that are under the ground can send up new shoots creating new plants. When your trumpet plants are growing, try to keep the branches from touching the ground. If they touch the ground long enough they will put more shoots into the ground starting new plants, so keeping them trimmed will help. As for the other trumpet vines that you have growing through your garden, it's a very tedious process but, you have to get the roots out at every point that they are growing. If you don't get the roots out, they will keep reproducing. You can get different herbicides like (Round-up) but that doesn't always work. It really depends on getting the roots out.
i have read info like this elsewhere...good to know. Thanks for posting. Hope it helps Joyce.
They are in my lawn. So guess I will just have to keep mowing them. Can't replace my lawn , if I kill the vines. Thank you for the information.
