Has anyone ever painted the inside of a microwave?
Chipping off...I would love to know if anyone has ever painted the inside and what type of paint
you would use.

The Garden Frog with C Renee on Jan 28, 2014Personally I would not paint the inside of the microwave and I would search the manufacturers website to see what you can do about it, if anything. I have never seen a microwave rust or peel paint and I would not use it if it were me. spray paint is not food grade and most paints are not made for this type of situation and could release toxins into your food or worst yet start a fire. I would invest in a new microwave and take that one to the recycling center.Helpful Reply

Connie K on Jan 28, 2014I have the same problem on my microwave and I think it must have had some rough treatment by the previous home owner. I haven't found a solution so we are replacing. Mine, too, still works great. Frustrating!Helpful Reply

Catherine Smith on Jan 29, 2014Agree with C Renee and Cynthia. Where your cooking raw food, no way would I want to take the chance of trying to paint. A new microwave is a lot cheaper than risking your health.Helpful Reply

Graceful Angels on Jan 29, 2014Never ever ever paint or put anything else on the inside of a microwave. That metal lining is there for a reason. You will only blow the whole thing up by putting paint of any type inside it. No no no!!! Save up and buy a new or 2nd hand one. Much safer.Helpful Reply

Donna J on Jan 29, 2014No way should you paint the inside of a microwave. Don't even try to fix it if it is broken. Get a new one. The technology is improving with them and the price of a new one is less expensive. Go for it! Get a new one.Helpful Reply
