Use command strips.
Command hooks come in a variety of sizes
Use command hooks. Items should be hung at "eye" level, which is quite subjective. This link will help! Have fun!

I've used nails, plugging up holes with toothpaste and painting over when I moved.
I have both command strips and hooks, I guess my question was a little misleading, because what I am really looking for is a way to group or place pictures that will look appealing. I have many pictures and paintings that have been given as gifts over the last 45 years different sizes and subjects. So I was looking for a way to make them look professionally set on the walls.
Make a template of every picture your talking about even out of new paper and mark where the picture hook are on them and tape to the wal until you get the arrangement you like and then apply the nail in the marked location and you have a perfect group😁
