Concrete is EVERYWHERE in home décor. Here is a fun and inexpensive way to add some concrete to your style!
Here's what you will need. I silicone mold. (or other household items to make a mold), Concrete mix, water, spray oil (like Pam), beeswax, essential oils, and some candle wicks.
I sprayed a silicone mold with coconut oil spray. That will make sure the cement candle comes out easily.
Then fill with cement mixture.
Here is the fun part!! Taka a belt sander and vibrate the mold so that all of the air bubbles come to the top. You could also use a cordless drill? Maybe?
You are just using it for the vibration.
Put it out in the sun for at least 5 or 6 hours. I live in Phoenix so basically we live in a kiln.
Here is the finished molded candle holder!
Aren't they cute?! You could pour wax into them, put a succulent in it, use it to hold matches, the sky is the limit!!
Here is the finished product. What would you use for your concrete mold? See the full post HERE!
Suggested materials:
  • Cement mix   (Home Depot)
  • Beeswax candle melts   (Joann)
