Dig down 6" and lay 4" of base and then 2" of sand. Level with 2x4 sliding across top. Lay out your pavers and put edging around pavers. Then fill cracks with polymeric sand to lock in place.

Does the sand get fleas or chiggers
following.
Generally it is made of crushed concrete. If you ask for base, they will know what you want.
