Cleaning a crystal chandelier
-
Z on Jan 30, 2014There are drip dry spray on chandelier cleaners for this purpose. To keep anything underneath the fixture clean attach and open upside down umbrella from the bottom of the chandelier to catch any drips. If your superstitious use a large heavy duty plastic drop cloth and some old towels to catch the drips.Helpful Reply

Caroline Davenport on Jan 31, 2014Use an open umbrella underneath as Becky suggested or a plastic drop cloth and a good spray bottle. Fill it with window cleaner, or vinegar, or ammonia - depending on how dirty the chandelier is, first dusting it good with a duster - and spray letting it drip dry. Any cleaner will do as long as it won't leave a residue. Vinegar, of course, is less toxic.Helpful Reply

Jeanette S on Feb 01, 2014Good luck! The problem with cleaning this is why I got rid of my crystal chandelier! I worked full time at a very busy job and just did not have the time to clean it! The truth was, I was not fond enough of it to make that one of the things I wanted to spend my time on. So, I solved the problem by getting a rustic metal one that looked dusty out of the box...HA! Problem solved...just keep the cobwebs from becoming obvious and you have it made!Helpful Reply
