Honestly, some of that feeling you have just comes with a baby. Putting that aside, try to get things that have dual purpose. An ottoman that has storage. A bench where you can put baskets. etc. In a small space, rounded edges on tables are vital in my book - an oval coffee table, a round table. No corners to get bruises from! I love hooks for organizing daily items - quick an easy. Hooks for coats, towels, hats, purses, etc. Get it up off the floor!
I grew up in a house under constant renovation.....14 children, grandma and grandpa, mom and dad, widowed aunt and her two children....paw always blamed mom for all the children.....she had a hearing aid...every night he asked her if she was ready to go to sleep or what.....she always replied WHAT?
Awe congratulations on your new little baby! Isn't it surprising how such a tiny person has so much stuff? Try setting up "zones" in the house for baby items and look for easy access containers that will allow you to quickly put items away when not in use.
