Reclaimed Wood Heart Art
by

Using reclaimed wood (barn wood, pallet wood, trim boards) I made a fun, colorful heart art piece. Perfect not only for Valentine's Day but all year long!
I cut a heart out of newspaper.
Traced it with a Sharpie on to two equal sized boards.
Painted salvaged wood--link to paint technique in blog post!
I cut the heart out with a hand held jigsaw. One half broke into 3 pieces--new worries, the nail gun will fix that!
I used the nail gun to glue attach the heart frame to the boards.
Color and texture and warmth from the reclaimed wood!

Nikki on May 28, 2015LOVE!!! I have a jigsaw I have only used maybe 3x's I have only made straight cuts, I'm still learning the power tool thing =) do you have any tips on the best way to achieve the smooth curved cuts? mine is a variable speed and I have read different opinions about faster and slower speed settings for smoother cuts. Any advice you have or tips would be appreciated. I would love to some day make this heart. =)
