Closet made into a craft space

Martha Hinkle on Feb 02, 2014There is all kind of modular furniture that can be configured to fit in your space so you can customize the closet for your particular needs. To cover the area, get a shower curtain tension rod and a set of pretty curtains; you can pin them back when you're using the space and unpin when you want the area covered.Helpful Reply

Janice Laprise on Feb 02, 2014You could find a fabric you like and cut to size and use Velcro tape to mount it on the doors. This way it is removable for when you move out.Helpful Reply

The Garden Frog with C Renee on Feb 03, 2014Do you have dimensions? Opening size when door is open? There could be a way to keep the doors on and utilize the doors for storage and display. hardwood or carpeted floors? Picture would help too to see what you have in there since you cannot do any major renovations.Helpful Reply

Janet Bowman on Feb 03, 2014You could take the doors off - get some put together shelves put one on each side - put a narrow hollow core door between the two shelves, resting the ends on a shelf on either side - use the set of shelves for storage and the door in the middle as a work space. To cover the opening - since you are a crafty person-- make a screen either using long shutters (you could use the plastic ones that come in a package of either 2 or 4) or more narrow hollow core doors (enough to cover the width of the closet). Hinge them together with piano hinges. If you use the doors -- you could paint and decoupage them or add molding in the middle to make them to make them look like paneled doors.Helpful Reply
