I picked up this cute little table from Facebook Marketplace for $10, and tried not to let that green burn my eyes. I wanted to test how well my custom chalk paint would work on pressed board and figured this was a great piece to give it a go on. I was more than pleased with how it turned out!
I first started with cleaning the piece and sanding any area that needed to be smoothed, then cleaning again with an all purpose cleaner.
I had originally planned to buy new hardware, but decided to reuse the existing hardware - with a twist.
I pulled out my hot glue gun and some jute rope, and customized the legs and knobs to a super cute, beachy, shabby chic style.
It looks great for the new and improved dresser!
I mixed an antique white chalk paint and gave the piece 3 layers, then sealed it with 4 layers of polyurethane, to complete.
The dresser was so cute, it inspired me to create some wall decor to match it! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do and please feel free to leave comments and questions below.

The 'monster' in the heading grabbed my attention...my mother called a set of cupboards with a pass through the 'monster' for years till she re- did them. You've done a really fine job on your 'monster'; it looks great! The jute on the legs and knobs was inspired. How have the knobs held up with use? Thanks for sharing. :-)
