hand pulling, then throw it in the trash or burn it.
Have you tried vinegar with Dawn and salt? Just be careful not to spray it on anything you want to keep.
Hi Jeanni, You can pour boiling water and then sprinkle salt on it. A lot of salt. This will kill anything. Be sure you don't get it on anything you don't want to kill. Hope this helps you.
These suggestions, does it kill the grass, too? I've read the only way to get rid of it is to till the lawn up and start over. Also, was told that pulling the weed actually spreads it more.
We had sedge grass all over our newly seeded lawn. (I'm guessing the seeds were already there. Bummer.) There is a weed control spray specific for sedges, but it can be hard to find and/or pricey. Well worth the money unless you ENJOY hand weeding. The vinegar and salt solutions above will kill EVERYTHING, so they are not appropriate for lawn application. Those solutions are WONDERFUL for killing stuff growing in your driveway or sidewalk, though. Very inexpensive and very effective, too.
