Any recommendations for Moving Carolina Jasmine?

Hello! I have two huge jasmines that I must move. They've almost covered the front porch where direct sun temps these days reach 120+ in North Carolina! And they seem to love it! When is the best time attempt digging them? Should I do a severe cut back first? Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Catherine
This just one of them blooming this past February!

I live in eastern NC and jasmine is a vine. Just cut back. It's hard to kill any vine here that is native to NC.

If you are planing on transplanting the vines it is best to wait until temperatures are cool enough. If that is not possible have the new holes already dug and make sure they are twice the size.Carefully make a large cut around them making sure you are not cutting into the roots.Put a little peat moss in the bottom, move and keep those roots well watered. For best results this should be done in the early morning before the hot sun or a cloudy day in the morning.

I'm afraid the roots have gone under the brick porch. Hopefully moving them won't kill much of the plant. I get so many compliments on them!

Make sure you have a good root ball, soak the hole, soak good afterwards, vitamin B can help prevent shock.

You can out a couple branches under moist dirt and they will root.

Thanks! I'm hoping to cover a new arbor with the vines and that would be even better than worrying about losing the 2 huge plants altogether. I plan to build it with galvanized pip to support the weight once fully grown. I salvaged the materials from commercial greenhouses that were being torn down.

Also going to build one for wild grapevines that are now thriving where I cleared out 50+ years of undergrowth in a wooded area next to my house. It was full of thorns with some runners 30+ ft long. That was a challenge for sure!

I'm so glad I posted! Thanks to all again!
