im pretty sure they send out runners that can be planted once they have roots
We have pulled up crepe myrtle and replanted it. A few months later new trees came up from the roots left behind . So transplanting shoots should do well.
It should be fine, mak dure you have a good root ball or soak cuttings till roots show up.
