What are using it on?
Charlotte - yes, either liquid wax or paste wax can be used. Don't apply too thick a coat; I learned from personal experience ... just a thin layer is best, let dry then buff with a clean old sock or a piece of t-shirt material. Once your piece has dried and has been buffed, IF you want a dark antiqued look to your item, dark wax may then be applied.
Either one can be used but I prefer the paste wax-it gives me better control than the liquid
My advice is to pick one room at a time and just make the rest liveable for right now. I know ours overwhelmed me too, but I just found one room to give most of my attention to. The one bedroom had 5 layers of wallpaper and some mold I had to clean. Each day I picked so long and worked there. I am happy to say it was a 2 month project but it was the boost I needed. Keep it up it is worth it in the long way
