If you have a ton of material to compost, you can use pallets, usually free for the taking. Check Craigslist. If you aren't covered up in scraps, you can use plastic totes, you will have to drill holes in them, but they work well.
I have used cinder blocks layered 2 high in a square or rectangle. Add your composting materials and water well. Very easy to access to turn your materials with a putchfork.

Hello Gary; I actually have used pallets for my first bin. It got what looked like termites, so......It did not stay around too long. I burning it quickly!!!
Aside from that, A Friend of mine who is a Master Gardener dug a square about two three feet into the ground and then placed concrete blocks on all sides. He uses that for his compost bin.
I have done something much easier. I have a large area on my property the size of 3X3. I dug the dirt out, mixed it back up well with leaves, cow manure and plenty of water. I then began adding all food scraps. I mix when I add any scraps. if it does not rain, I add water at least twice a week.
I hope that this helps you!! Take Care!
i put up plastic fencing in an 8ft square.....lots of tree leaves here.
