In order to do a pea gravel path, the easiest is to define the path with a border of some sort to contain the gravel. Then put down a weed barrier cloth. Pour the pea gravel on top, leveling as you go.
Outline the path with a border so the pea gravel doesn't travel everywhere. Make sure the ground is level so it is easy to walk on then put a weed barrier down and then cover with the pea gravel
