What is the best way to clean brick floors?
We recently purchased a home that has real brick floors in the foyer, hall and sunroom - not sure whether to damp mop with only water, use a special cleaner, etc.?
Hi Susan, If it were mine, I would start by scrubbing it with a broom (or a scrub brush) and a bucket of warm soapy water. If it has any moss or mildew, add a small amount of bleach in your water. Hope this helps you. Good luck.
Hot water with bleach. Watch your clothes. Don't breathe it in, use a mask & gloves. Leave a while, rinse, dry.

Ask your local tile flooring store. The way to clean will depend if flagstone has a sealer or not. Also depends on if inside or outside. If inside use 4 tablespoon of bleach per gal hot water, follow with clean cold water. If outside use 1/4 cup of bleach per gal of hot water, rinse worth water hose. If you do not rinse the flagstone can become slick and will be a fall issue.
muriatic acid/home depot folks can tell ya how.we Owned a masonry business back in eastern pa. We layed ALOT of flagstone.I just have to add though are you sure it's not slate?
Test it out lovey. I don't claim to be an expert. Baking soda is good sprinkled on stains & scrub. Hose or rinse off repeat if necessary. I'm thinking fabric stain remover try that. Also eucalyptus spray/oil give it a go. All environment friendly. 😀😇😀
Depends on the stain type.
oh yes i can
And you can buy a masonry sealer at home depot after you scrub with the acid but MAKE sure to have a fresh water hose cause as soon as you scrub it let it sit for about a minute then fresh water and scrub . wear protective goggles and not your "pretty clothes" lol...Let me know how you make out .Btw apply with paint roller. If the "joints" are not to your liking then reapply w/ a paint brush!...It's not hard
