I think you entered this question twice. I answered on the other entry.
(Iapologize for the mistakes, I'm french) There is a bug , introduced in France in 2002 from Asia (I don't know about UK) wich is a real nightmare for lilies. It's called the "criocère du lis" (lis = lilies in french).
I's quite difficult to get rid off it, but it's still possible.
You can plant a wormwood close to your lilies, the criocère doesn't like the smell.
There are other ways, but I can't find a translation for them.
Maybe you'll be able to do it:
- Find "Tanaisie", which contains a toxic substance wich will kill the criocère (by spraying an infusion of it) --> be careful
- Find "fritillaire" : the criocère likes it. You can use it as a bait.
