If you already have the Swiffer duster, use thinish microfiber cloths that will go into holes you put the Swiffer duster cloths in. They also will be reusable, rinse, let dry and you should be good to go. Just don't put them in a dryer with softener sheets or wash with fabric softener, it does truly affect the performance of the cloths.
You can use the dollar tree ones, they work great. Also, my mom used to use handywipes sprayed with endust. Old cloth diapers are great, too. Hope that helps.

If you crochet or knit there are many patterns for home-made swiffers available on-line, that are washable, reusable and enviro-friendly. I have also used worn socks and pantyhose (cut to fit), but the aren't as effective.
Dollar Tree has them with 3 refills and the handle in a box for $1.
YES. There are ways to make homemade Swiffers for dusting and that are REUSEABLE! I have crocheted swiffer covers and they slide on the end of the Swiffer. Once you use them just take them off and throw them in the washer. Another idea is to use a dish towel and safety pin it around the bottom of the Swiffer. Both work the same way.
THANKS SO MUCH, FOR ALL YOUR IDEAS.
