You have to grow herbs together that like the same conditions. Where I live in Florida I grow, sage, oregano, and dill in the same area. They like lots of sun and don't like too much water. I grow chives, basil and parsley together, they like morning sun and more water. If you keep them in separate pots (1 pot for each herb) you can move them around until you find the spot they like the most. Read the planting instructions to determine the best location.
Sow them in different Pots and arrange to suit your style
How about starting in pots so you can move them around to find the best location for them in your yard? I have in pots and in ground. Parsley, chives, garlic, lemon thyme, french thyme, sage, sweet basil, greek oregano, italian oregano, mint, lavender, dill, rosemary.
