Fireplace Makeover! Learn How to Tile
I have a horrible fireplace that is stacked "stones" that look like mostly narrow oblong lengths that have "chipped" faces. It's sort of rustic/western look I hate. I want a smooth surface and mantel. Any ideas? Will the stone facing have to be removed or can some sort of facing be applied? Sorry for the poor description.
I would try to have someone resurface it with stucco it wont be a smooth finish, but textured, would look good. Also, you could have someone put sheet rock over it which would be smooth
