Toss in a bale of hay or straw
I don't know what kind of algae you have but we had the kind that would kill our fish if we had let it cover all of the pond. We went to our county agency. The product we bought was toxic but not to the fish but would kill deer or any animal that drank the water. That broke my heart. Very protective of my wild animals. If you go to your county agency they will help you. I would tell you what it was but that was several years ago. Good luck!
