if you find out let me know... I have them along our pool fence for privacy put in by previous owners and they are invasive, I don't like them and their roots are so strong and then they grow into the fence and cracking the wood!ughhh they are ugly

Yes I had lots of them in Enid, OK before moving south to OKC area........so of course I brought seeds with me and have some here now...as well as Crepe Myrtle and other heat loving shrubs.................. I do trim them back in Feb.tho so they will not grow into trees, unless I want them to.
To get rid of our rose of sharon, we wrapped a chain around the bush and hooked it to our truck and pulled it out. The farmer beside us was probably happy as the seeds sprouted in his field every year.
