I use liquid nails for just about everything in my house. Get a clamp to keep it secure while the glue is curing.
builders grade adhesive by liquid nails. Make sure you put some kind of clamp to hold together until the adhesive sets.

I worked in a butcher block store and they used epoxy 2 part glue to fill in between boards. it dries pretty clear and fills the gap and adheres the boards together
