Cats actually love it fresh. You can put it into a small cloth bag, or sew it into a cushion. Or you can literally just leave a pot of it where the cat can reach it and they will eat it and play with it just as it is.
I stuff it into old socks and tie it off in a knot.. Presto, instant catnip toy..
Like Michele said, they like it fresh but if you want to dry it, put some leaves on a paper towel and put in the microwave for a minute. Watch it carefully so the paper doesn't burn. Or simply air dry it, then crumble up the leaves and let kitty roll around in it. You can also put some in cheesecloth or a fairly thin fabric and turn it into a catnip toy.
Dry it. You can hang bunches upside down until they're dry. Use a dehydrator or whatever. Then put it in a small kitchen chopper or chop into bits with a knife. I like to stuff baby socks with it and sew or tie the end closed. Great inexpensive fun.
I just cut off a bunch and place on paper plates and give to the cats fresh . . . And then plan on hoovering it all up later . . . 😄
dry it like you would any other leafy herb -- basil, parsley, etc. good YouTube tips on Microwave herb drying -- especially helpful if you live in a very humid area!
