Do you cut them down in the fall? Mine did not bloom for several years. Last fall I did not cut them down and this year I gave hundreds of flowers.

Depends on the plant, either you have one like Beth above or like mine that does need to have the dead sticks cut down for it to bloom! took me 3 years to work that out!

I agree with the above answers. You must trim them in the fall. Also if you want them blue--bury a few nails in the ground around them.

Hope this helps. It really does help.

    Fertilize with Aluminum Sulfate.

Yes Aluminium Sulfate will make them change color but it won't make them grow or Bloom you have to dig around the roots to get air to the roots and you have to feed them every four waiting you feed them with Expert grow food and if you do that in as little as two weeks you will see you plant bubble in size and it will have buds all over. Happy growing. From the happy gardens

Water, feed, and lots of sun! Prune properly.

My hydrangeas gave me the most beautiful blue flowers you ever saw in your life. Once the pine trees were removed, the plant was never the same. even though I fed it acid and trimmed it back in the Fall like I always did. Sad to say after 23 years of enjoying this beautiful plant, I now have bare sticks and am heart broken.
