The sago palms new fronds should be of a lighter color. That means you are taking very good care of the plant. If it were a yellow color, you should be troubleshooting the reason but... if the fronds are a light green, you are doing fantastic. It sounds like it is ready to offer you a flower in the middle soon.
check with a nursery sounds like it need manganese or some type of fertilizer
