They do have a use, an additive to some vitamins, brew a tea. If you do not need or want them you can just trim off. I give mine to my neighbor who makes a tea out of them.

Rose hips are the fruit of the rose, and a great source of vitamin C, you can make tea from them if you haven't sprayed them with anything toxic. Some folks make rose hip jelly too.
