You are overwatering. They don't like their feet wet
The dilemma is trying to grow a plant that is best suited in the south...
I'm in Florida and they don't bloom here in the summer because of the rain. They like hot direct sunlight. Will not bloom in shade. Hope this might help. When you are watering them when you see them wilt you are probably using too much water. They don't need much. You don't want to soak them. I understand rain is a problem and there isn't much you can do about rain.
Well, if one goes by the usual comments made about watering till you see water coming out of the bottom of the pot considered for all potted plants, than i am guilty. How else would the bottom roots be able to extend themselves if not touched by water?
They use an 8-8-8 blooming fertilizer that lasts about 2 months so you will buy them. Purple blooms more often than any other color.
